Pulmary is a family winery that has resurrected one of the many fallow industrial wineries that did not survive Argentina’s move from quantity to quality.
Located in the very center of the ever chic Chacaras de Coria this tiny bodega contains elements that rival its largest peers.
Pulmary too has an art gallery of sorts. More a collection of drawings celebrating the winery and wine than a serious stab at curating, it is nonetheless charming.
The complete lack of pretension carries over to the on site restaurant, El Charinguito.
From the unassuming hut-like kitchen local dishes are served with great attention to detail and innovation.
The wines of Pulmary are organic, as is their approach to tourism. Visitors will walk through a working winery that manages to make the detritus of the industry look more like a living museum than a bunch of junk.
You will taste inside what was once a cement vat, with the day’s offerings hand written on the wall in chalk. You are likely to greeted by a member of the family, and they will ensure that you leave feeling like you too are one of their extend kin.
